About the Role
The General Manager II guarantees the overall success of a highly complex, large-scale distribution center environment, ensuring it is a productive, safe, and positive workplace. This role involves managing the day-to-day operations, budget, and strategic objectives of the distribution center, focusing on maximizing productivity and expenses while upholding company values. The GM II leads a team to ensure optimal organization for excellent customer service, timely and damage-free merchandise delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the DC's financial, operational, people, process, and service objectives to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains.
- Participate in strategic and business process improvement projects for the distribution network.
- Manage 3PL provider to ensure optimal performance and metrics are achieved (depending on DC).
- Evaluate work methods, procedures, controls, and staffing to ensure accurate and timely product movement and processing.
- Manage warehouse layout for maximum efficiency based on seasonality and inventory needs.
- Interact with business partners (Supply Chain, Operations, Merchandining, Finance, HR, Asset Protection, Stores) to drive results and deliver solutions.
- Identify and share best practices across the Distribution network.
- Coach, train, and develop Associates through formal and informal programs, providing job performance feedback.
- Maintain a union-free work environment by creating an employee-centered workplace.
- Ensure Store and Customer needs are met, service is managed to KPIs, and concerns are handled promptly.
- Manage emergency issues with Stores and Customers.
- Conduct store walks with store leadership teams.
- Ensure a culture of safety by following safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor DC safety, physical security, and operational metrics daily, weekly, and monthly.
Requirements
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel software applications
- Previous change management experience (driving, influencing and inspiring change through communication at all impacted levels).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to be -on-call- at various times.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Salary/Compensations
- $165,000.00 - $180,000.00
