About the Role
Young Life is seeking individuals to join their team. All employees are required to sign a Statement of Faith and adhere to Young Life's Christian purposes of evangelism and discipleship.
Responsibilities
- Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life.
- Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines within a church community.
- Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
- Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
- Meet with volunteer leaders and area leadership regularly.
- Recruit and train new leaders to build a leadership team.
- Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
- Attend and be involved with area leadership as assigned.
- Raise financial support and maintain good donor care practices.
- Communicate ministry updates to personal donor partners.
- Assist with camp fundraisers and attend occasional committee and adult functions.
- Actively engage in all three levels of contact work.
- Participate in leadership to conduct a Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry.
- Participate on a team to implement a summer and school-season camping strategy.
- Potentially serve on summer staff or assigned staff at a Young Life property.
- Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures.
- Learn to set yearly ministry and personal goals and objectives.
- Assist in office administration when necessary.
- Complete expense reports clearly and timely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Participate in regional training events as required.
- Work through job assignments under the supervision of the area director or assigned mentor.
- Receive individualized training supervised by the area director.
- Learn and gain competency in ministry skills.
- Become familiar with area strategy and ministry health.
- Receive introduction to personal fund-raising principles.
- Take advantage of Young Life discipleship experiences.
Requirements
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
- Must subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Statement of Faith.
- Must be ready, willing, and able to fulfill ministry functions.
- Must refrain from conduct and statements that detract from biblical standards.
- Must abide by all policies and practices of Young Life.
Education Level
- Pursuing a college degree.
