About the Role
This project explores the Canadian landscape of 2SLBTQIA+ adult homelessness, focusing on access to training, resources, and promising practices. The role involves supporting a literature review and program scan, and contributing to a pan-Canadian community of practice for housing service providers. The team emphasizes training, workplace education, and activist knowledge exchange, with opportunities for students to be involved in data collection and knowledge mobilization, including co-authorship.
Responsibilities
- Support with a literature review and program scan of services for Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary and gender diverse individuals experiencing housing precarity and homelessness across Canada.
- Contribute to the creation of a pan-Canadian community of practice for housing service providers serving and led by Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary, gender-diverse and queer communities.
- Be trained and involved with data collection and knowledge mobilization, including co-authorship.
Requirements
- Experience undertaking a literature review.
- Comfortable scanning programs and services across Canada and Quebec.
- Familiarity and experience with 2SLGBTQIA+ issues is a requirement.
- Ability to work on tasks independently when needed.
- Authorized to work in Canada.
- Willing to work in the province of Quebec.
- Requires English communication both verbally and in writing.
Skills
- Community-based and participatory data collection is an asset.
- Accessible knowledge mobilization is an asset.
- Policy or community-engaged scholarship experience is an asset.
- Professional or lived experience knowledge of homelessness and housing issues is a priority.
- Belonging to impacted communities (Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary, gender-diverse or queer) is a priority.
- Fluency in writing and speaking French is a strong asset.
