About the Role
Seeking a House Manager & Family Assistant to create and maintain household organization systems, provide family support, manage errands, assist with meal preparation, oversee pet care, coordinate vendors, and offer administrative support. This role requires a proactive, organized, and flexible individual who can bring order to a busy household and support the family's daily routines and long-term goals.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain household organization systems.
- Perform light daily tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming.
- Manage clothing swaps and coordinate donation drop-offs.
- Provide packing and unpacking support for family travel.
- Complete routine home maintenance tasks such as changing batteries and light bulbs.
- Perform occasional deep cleans of the fridge, oven, and baseboards.
- Refresh garage and entry areas.
- Organize toys, gear, and children's belongings.
- Provide backup pickup and drop-off for school and activities.
- Support children in staying organized with their gear for scheduled activities.
- Reinforce organizational systems and life skills with children.
- Offer light backup supervision as needed.
- Wash, fold, and organize laundry for the family.
- Manage linen rotation.
- Keep laundry areas tidy and stocked.
- Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
- Put away deliveries and break down boxes.
- Handle returns, dry cleaning pickups, and miscellaneous errands.
- Prep school lunches a couple of times per week.
- Cook one family meal per week.
- Maintain kitchen cleanup and organization after meal prep.
- Be mindful of dietary needs and preferences.
- Feed and walk the family dog as needed.
- Help maintain pet supplies.
- Support with vet and grooming scheduling.
- Oversee housecleaner and other household vendors.
- Research and coordinate repair quotes and home maintenance needs.
- Assist with travel planning and logistics coordination.
- Manage household schedules using Skylight Calendar.
- Coordinate appointments and handle scheduling tasks.
- Support with light administrative tasks.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Maintain a smoke-free environment.
- Possess reliable personal transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Be up to date on recommended vaccinations.
- Hold current CPR and First Aid certification, or be willing to obtain.
