As a Territory Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping customer relationships and driving business growth. From nurturing existing accounts to hunting for new business, this role is all about passion, performance, and partnerships with the ability to drive earnings and incentives. Responsibilities
- Own and nurture the customer relationship in a team-based selling model.
- Educate customers on ordering platforms and provide menu consultations, product recommendations and pricing strategies.
- Drive sales by increasing case growth and acquiring new business through impactful sales presentations.
- Tailor sales approach to individual customers.
- Manage time and territory effectively.
- Collaborate with Specialists to assist with top penetration opportunities and new accounts.
- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and customer service to ensure seamless product delivery.
- Develop new business by identifying prospective customers using market intelligence databases and business directories.
- Follow leads from existing clients, participate in organizations and clubs, and attend trade shows and conferences.
- Manage deliveries to the routing schedule and troubleshoot order process problems.
- Understand market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
- Share market information with customers as part of value-added services.
- Drive personal vehicle to conduct customer check-ins, site visits, and follow-ups.
- No direct reports.
Requirements
- 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license is required, and motor vehicle record must be in good standing.
- Foodservice industry/culinary/restaurant management/hospitality experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
- Ability to build internal and external relationships and cold call to develop new business.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- A competitive spirit with a drive to exceed goals.
- Problem solving ability / organization and negotiation skills.
- Team up mentality to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce is a plus.
- Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 75 lbs.
