About the Role
Design and quote innovative and reliable technology solutions by assessing customer needs and requirements. Develop effective fire alarm and life safety system designs that align with industry standards and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Consult with customers, recommend solutions, and demonstrate products.
- Identify key customer needs and produce a solution that best meets those needs.
- Conduct site assessments to document current device locations, assess system status, and make recommendations.
- Provide technology roadmaps.
- Demonstrate products and communicate solutions to large groups.
- Design systems that best fit customer needs.
- Communicate the features, benefits, and business value of your solution.
- Provide accurate and timely quotes with appropriate detail.
- Produce detailed and accurate project documentation for the Operations team.
- Maintain knowledge of industry/technology.
- Achieve and maintain required industry certifications.
- Achieve Individual Quote and Order Targets.
- Achieve Engineering and CAD Hours Booked Targets.
- Maintain Unfunded Change Orders below 0.25% of closed business.
- Achieve Quote Turnaround greater than 90% by customer due date.
Requirements
- Two-year degree from an accredited college, university, or technical institution with coursework in communications, business, or Technology, or substitute 2 years pertinent experience for each year of education.
- Four years' working experience with fire alarm systems.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to talk and hear English language communications.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
- Ability to perform light lifting of objects.
- Ability to perform reaching, grasping and carrying activities.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Above average intellectual ability and excellent judgment are needed to deal effectively with a wide range of problem solving and trouble shooting activities.

- Strong knowledge of communications systems, including audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks.
- PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment).
- Strong working knowledge of Excel is preferred.
