About the Role
This role is responsible for managing legal cases from start to finish, including court appearances, depositions, and arbitration. The position requires providing legal advice and timely reporting to stakeholders to facilitate the efficient resolution of lawsuits.
Responsibilities
- Manage case assignments from inception to resolution.
- Appear in court in all metropolitan area venues.
- Conduct EUOS and arbitrations.
- Handle motion work.
- Prepare master arbitration documents with the AAA.
- Respond to emails and telephone messages promptly.
- Provide all court appearance dates to the assigned legal staff.
- Submit timely reports to the managing attorney regarding court and deposition appearances.
- Submit timely reports to the assigned claims supervisor or examiner.
- Research legal issues related to liability, regulatory matters, and insurance coverage.
- Offer legal counsel to HIC on liability and current law to promote swift lawsuit resolution.
- Appear in court or at depositions for cases assigned to other attorneys when they are unavailable.
- Document all file activities in the activity log.
- Notify the managing attorney of any file-related issues, such as defaults, preclusion orders, or judgments.
Requirements
- Prior experience in the no-fault field.
- Experience with trials, motions, depositions, conferences, and arbitrations.
- Proficiency in preparing all legal documents.
