About the Role
Professional Medical Practice, P.C. is seeking an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC or CASAC2) to join the medical department at the Montgomery County Jail in Fultonville, NY.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, coordinate, and implement the behavioral health program.
- Liaise between medical and facility staff regarding Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
- Engage patients in therapeutic interventions for substance use concerns.
- Facilitate group and individual sessions for patients in the MAT program.
- Assist with the detection and prevention of patient suicide.
- Document patient encounters using the SOAPE note format.
- Collaborate with facility staff on discharge planning for MAT program patients.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case consultations.
- Serve on the Quality Assurance Committee and sub-committees, assisting with standards and audit criteria.
- Participate in various medical unit and facility committees as needed.
Requirements
- Must be certified as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC or CASAC2).
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree / Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related Human Services degree with a concentration in drug and alcohol coursework.
- Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to function independently and demonstrate clinical competency.
- Ability to gain patient trust and build a working relationship.

- $24.00- $29.00 per hour
Benefits
- Salaries are negotiable and commensurate based on experience.
- Part Time PTO package provided and accrued at the rate of 1.0 hour for every 30.0 hours of straight time worked.
- Maximum PTO accrual of 64.0 hours.
