About the Role
Tioga Downs is seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Engineer to maintain and enhance its property, ensuring the grounds are safe, clean, and visually appealing for guests and team members.
Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles as needed
- Perform routine groundskeeping, including mowing and trimming around walkways, flower beds, and buildings
- Maintain landscaping by planting, watering, fertilizing, mulching, raking, and pruning
- Keep sidewalks clean and clear of debris; shovel snow and apply ice melt during winter
- Assist with setup and teardown of special events
- Maintain cleanliness and security of maintenance buildings and surrounding areas
- Perform general maintenance and minor repairs in barn areas as directed
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow direction
- Physically demanding role requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds frequently)
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work around equipment and in environments that may include noise, strong odors, and horse-related cleanup
