About the Role
As a Foreign Language Teacher, you will be a catalyst for healing, growth, and opportunity for students who have often faced significant adversity and educational gaps. Your role involves providing structure, stability, and creativity to students with unique learning needs, helping them unlock their potential through personalized instruction within a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized instruction grounded in each student’s goals.
- Support students with unique learning needs.
- Create engaging, age-appropriate lessons that support academic and emotional growth.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Engage in reflective practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and a valid NYS teaching certificate required in a Foreign Language (Spanish or French preferred) or an equivalent teaching certificate obtained through a NYS-approved pathway that leads to a master’s degree in education and permanent certification.
- Certification in Special Education strongly preferred.
- Prior experience teaching students with IEPs or emotional/behavioral challenges is a plus.
- Must meet all NYSED and agency training requirements.
