About the Role
We are looking for a Manager, Risk Management to work closely with our partners in T&O - Transformation and Enterprise Operations (TEO) to ensure teams are compliant with internal and external regulatory requirements. You will provide guidance to TEO teams to manage their Operational Risk. This role is responsible for Risk and Control Self-Assessments, Control Testing and Continuous Monitoring reviews that will drive valuable insights and recommendations to TEO leadership to improve our operating landscape. You will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Risk within the TEO Ops Strategy and Process Engineering (OPE) team in Toronto.
Responsibilities
- Complete Risk and Control Self-Assessments in accordance with RBC standards, including due diligence activities.
- Conduct control assessments and testing to support RBC Internal Controls Management Standard (ICMS) requirements.
- Report on monetary and non-monetary Operational Risk Events, create reports for senior management, and review/challenge action plans.
- Identify Issues and Action plans in accordance with the ORM Standard.
- Analyze and communicate areas of emerging operational risk and assist in producing reports/dashboards for senior leaders.
- Review Policy and Procedure documentations, monitor compliance, and recommend advice and solutions.
- Complete activities according to the assessment plan/required timelines.
- Escalate items in a timely manner to ensure completion dates are met.
Requirements
- 5 – 7 years’ experience in Operations
- Transferrable experience in managing compliance and audit requirements
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities while producing quality results
- Demonstrated collaboration skills with ability to work with diverse cross functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to drive to achieve results and adapt to changing priorities
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent (nice-to-have)
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements and environments quickly (nice-to-have)
- Conflicts and issues resolution and escalation (nice-to-have)
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills (nice-to-have)
