About the Role

The University of Toronto’s Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education is globally recognized for developing and advancing knowledge about the interactions of physical activity and health. This role provides professional and dynamic leadership to the Faculty’s Active Healthy Living Clubs program, with an emphasis on recreational sport and physical activity clubs.

Responsibilities

• Create all practice and competition schedules across multiple facilities for numerous programs in Active Healthy Living Clubs.
• Advocate on behalf of students with internal and external contacts/agencies.
• Design a program promotion plan to recruit students for club membership and engagement.
• Manage all travel requirements within club travel policies, including transportation, accommodation, coaches expenses, meals, therapy, reimbursements, parking, mileage, and officials travel.
• Recruit, hire, orient, and train over 80 USW casuals, contracted volunteers, coaches, instructors, and work-study students.
• Attend games and/or events to ensure staff performs assigned duties and to solve problems that may arise pre, during, or post-event.
• Create Game/Event Day action plans for all games and events within the club program.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in sport management, physical education, or kinesiology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of four years in recreation and sport management, preferably in a post-secondary recreation and sport setting.
• Experience in managing budgets and supervising unionized and non-unionized staff.
• Demonstrated event management and sport scheduling experience.
• Experience in university or college recreation and sport across a continuum of programming (intramurals, clubs, interuniversity, high performance).
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
