About the Role
Serves as the first point of contact for patients entering the medical facility, greeting and checking them in, verifying information, scheduling appointments, and updating the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Facilitates intake procedures, including form completion and payment collection, while ensuring patient privacy and safety.
Responsibilities
- Greets and checks-in patients
- Verifies patient information
- Schedules appointments
- Updates Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Facilitates intake procedures such as completion of healthcare and insurance forms
- Collects payments for services
- Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent job performance and effective communication
- Adheres to all organizational, local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care
- May be responsible for performing specific tasks and/or orienting other staff to the department
Requirements
- 1 year of recent relevant experience
