About the Role
Join the Montefiore School Health Program as an LPN with an Alternate Work Schedule, supporting student health in a school-based setting. This role focuses on preventive care, chronic disease management, and urgent clinical needs within an interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical care to pediatric and adolescent students under RN supervision
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures within LPN scope of practice
- Collect specimens and perform diagnostic tests including venipuncture
- Deliver patient and family education tailored to developmental and cultural needs
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control and safety policies
- Document care, interventions, and observations in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with RNs and school staff to manage patient care and daily workflows
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current New York State LPN License and Registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Infection Control Certificate
- Effective written, oral, and interpersonal English communication skills
- Basic data entry and computer retrieval skills
- Must complete fingerprinting for Department of Education and Justice Center Security Clearance
- Occupational Health Services (OHS) Annual Assessment and Fit Test
