About the Role

The Broadlines/Hardlines retail team covers roughly $2 trillion in market cap spanning several categories including broadlines, home improvement, home furnishing, and auto parts. The candidate will be responsible for idea generation, industry research, client interaction, database creation/management, modeling, writing, valuation analysis, conferences, and much more. The ideal candidate possesses experience in sell-side research or investment banking.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work
  • Develop and analyze databases integral to our research product
  • Seek out new, unusual sources of information
  • Respond to client inquiries in a timely and effective fashion
  • Write regular industry and company reports and company launch initiations from scratch
  • Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment
  • Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes
  • Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies
  • Participate and contribute to client meetings and events
  • Attend meetings and interact with key opinion leaders
  • Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Min 1 year of experience focusing in equity research, wholesale credit, buy side experience or investment banking experience
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
  • Strong writing and modeling skills
  • Expert at MS Word and MS Excel
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment
  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
  • Enjoy following the stock market and doing desktop and field research
  • Basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics
  • Work well in a collaborative team environment

  • $200,000.00 - $225,000.00 annualized salary
