About the Role

Manage department technicians and engineers, plan and coordinate capital projects, develop engineering efforts for equipment installation, and oversee in-house tooling development for customer packaging needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the capital management process, including project development, approval, implementation, and tracking.
  • Manage large projects, including facilities improvements, expansions, and new business activities.
  • Develop and utilize capacity planning tools to create improvement and/or new capacity plans addressing operational constraints.
  • Design and deploy plans to improve manufacturing processes and methods supporting cost savings, quality improvements, and equipment effectiveness.
  • Provide cost and timing estimates for new projects and product tooling.
  • Support Manufacturing and Packaging operations with machinery installation to improve labor efficiency and safety.
  • Manage budgets for Machine Shop and Technical Support departments, including developing the department's yearly budget.
  • Provide general supervision of department personnel, including administering merit reviews and job classification policies, and assisting subordinates with work problems.
  • Support production and technical managers to improve and/or maintain production quality levels.
  • Evaluate the achievement of performance standards for Engineering employees.
  • Develop reliability maintenance methods and strategies ensuring integration with Operations and optimizing equipment performance.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service to meet operational, safety, GMP, and customer needs.
  • Interface directly with customers on technical projects, issues, and problem resolution.
  • Work closely with Health, Safety & Environmental to ensure process and equipment meet safety and environmental standards.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a management / leadership position preferred.

Skills

  • Experience working in an OTC manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in a GMP environment.
