About the Role

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking Physical Therapist Aides to serve as floaters across Central and Eastern Long Island. This role involves supporting patient care across multiple clinics, requiring flexibility in location based on staffing and scheduling needs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under therapist supervision
  • Prepare heat and ice packs, paraffin dips, and assist patients with pool and exercise equipment
  • Monitor patient motion and physical exertion levels
  • Guide patients through prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques
  • Maintain treatment equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Educate patients on proper equipment use and exercise routines
  • Prepare and comfort patients for therapy sessions
  • Answer patient questions and requests while maintaining confidentiality
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Sterilize and deliver equipment and supplies to treatment areas
  • Manage physical therapy supply inventory and place orders
  • Provide front desk coverage, including answering calls and assisting with scheduling

Requirements

  • Ability to travel to clinics within 15-20 minutes of home office
  • Reliable transportation for all assigned shifts
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to successfully complete in-service training
  • Must be able to walk, stand, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
