Responsibilities
- Ensure quality, consistency, production, and execution of all food menu items.
- Interact with team members and supervisors politely and courteously to ensure gracious hospitality.
- Anticipate and accommodate guest needs.
- Handle all allergy and/or dietary restrictions and modifications.
- Prepare all restaurant foods, hot and cold, and work in all aspects of food preparation.
- Accurately follow all orders received from the POS system and/or directions from the expeditor.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned station.
- Follow supervisor’s instructions, communicate with and support co-workers, and be a team player.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of assigned recipes and execute them to company standards.
- Possess general knowledge of the venue.
- Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards.
- Communicate product needs to chefs and support staff.
- Check cover counts, BEOs, and/or Fire Sheets.
- Properly set up the station and perform opening/closing procedures as directed by management.
- Stock station with prescribed supplies.
- Set “mise en place” following FIFO and company standards.
- Wipe down and sanitize the station.
- Perform opening side-work as prescribed.
- Perform closing side-work as prescribed.
- Report all breakage and damage to equipment or furniture immediately to management.
- Attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings (where applicable).
- Attend and participate in any training sessions or departmental meetings.
- Learn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by example.
- Portray a positive and professional attitude.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments.
- Work as part of a team and provide help and support to all fellow team members.
- Assist and/or complete additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- 2-year culinary line cook experience required.
- Experience as a line cook in a high-volume culinary operation preferred.
- Ability to write, read, and verbally communicate.
- Must be able to move quickly.
- Must be able to push and lift up to 75 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke.
- Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
- Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards.
- Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.
