About the Role

Austin Commercial is seeking a Safety Manager for our Austin, Texas Division to manage site safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and train project staff. As a 100% employee-owned firm, we prioritize safety, service, and integrity in all our commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage the site safety program on assigned projects
• Educate and train project staff on federal, state, and local safety laws
• Ensure compliance with company safety manuals, policies, and expectations
• Build working relationships with project staff and subcontractor safety representatives
• Create accurate safety reports and accident investigation documents
• Provide and participate in staff safety training and subcontractor development
• Represent the company professionally with owners and subcontractors
• Facilitate safety training aligned with project schedules
• Build and maintain relationships with key vendors including subcontractors, suppliers, and architects
• Participate in regional safety organizations

Requirements

• 6-8 years of safety experience in the construction industry
• Authorized OSHA 500 Trainer
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Knowledge of SWPP
• Safety certification from an accredited organization such as BCSP or equivalent
• Advanced knowledge of construction processes and procedures
• Proficient in relevant software
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to conduct effective crucial conversations
• Strong time and resource management skills
• Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship
