About the Role

We're looking for a Staff Storage Engineer to design, build, and operate the file and block storage behind our high-performance AI storage platform. You'll build reliable, scalable, high-throughput systems that power some of the largest and most innovative AI workloads in the world, working closely with infrastructure, compute and platform teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement highly scalable multi-tenant file and block storage, from the data path through the control plane.
  • Build distributed file storage and durable block volumes, and integrate dedicated storage clusters into customer environments.
  • Work with technologies such as RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, RoCE, InfiniBand, SPDK, and distributed filesystems to optimize performance.
  • Improve reliability, durability, and observability across the storage stack using telemetry, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Partner with platform, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver storage capabilities across the stack.
  • Mentor other engineers on building distributed, high-performance systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years in storage systems engineering or infrastructure.
  • Hands-on production experience with distributed file systems or block storage.
  • Storage protocols (e.g. NFS, S3) and file systems such as Ceph, Lustre, DAOS, or similar.
  • Proficiency in a systems programming language such as Rust, C++, or Go.
  • Cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, and scalable system architecture.
  • Storage observability and telemetry pipelines (e.g., ClickHouse, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Strong debugging in distributed, high-performance environments, and clear communication across teams.
  • You love owning a system from whiteboard to production.
  • You're curious about what storage looks like when it lives next to the GPUs.
  • You're an expert in making distributed systems fast, durable and simple to operate.
  • This position requires access to export controlled information.
