About the Role

Under the direction of the Sanitation Manager, this role promotes and maintains adherence to food safety cleanliness using proper work procedures and compliance with Food Safety Standards as defined by the FDA, SQF, BRC and/or HACCP programs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises daily workloads, training staff, and handles performance reviews and goal setting for sanitation staff of 20-30 employees.
  • Trains all new sanitation workers in proper cleaning SSOPs, chemical use and safety procedures.
  • Oversees all sanitation functions for plant/shift.
  • Schedules major cleanup projects with production supervisors.
  • Manages detailed cleaning tasks as per production schedule and master sanitation schedules.
  • Monitors staffing to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Maintains chemical usage and cleaning logs.
  • Manages inventory and storing of all sanitation supplies.
  • Ensures manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and BRC requirements.
  • Immediately reports all food safety and quality issues to your manager.
  • Partners with others by sharing knowledge, skills and information within your team and across functional areas.
  • Enhances technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development including temps in a union environment.
  • Provides Time Clock Management along with backup assistance in the absence of the Sanitation Manager.
