About the Role

We are seeking talented Mobile iOS Engineers with 12+ years of experience to guide our mobile efforts. You will develop the foundation of our mobile apps, scale shared services, and stay current with iOS advancements. This role involves close collaboration with Product, Identity, Security, System Design, and Infrastructure teams to build impactful solutions. We are looking for individuals excited about creating elegant, scalable apps within a supportive and innovative mobile team.

Responsibilities

Architect, build, test, and refine Gusto’s iOS app and supporting embedded mobile web views.
Utilize AI agents to enhance productivity and deliver high-quality output.
Identify and advocate for best practices, architecture, and processes.
Enhance and maintain iOS mobile infrastructure, including build pipelines, testing automation, and release processes.
Build and scale foundational services such as push notification systems, accessibility, and localization features.
Develop, iterate, and improve product features integrating core business functions, work tools, value-added services, and financial products.
Collaborate with product management, design, and partner teams to identify technical and customer pain points, brainstorm solutions, and prototype, iterate, and launch solutions.

Requirements

A minimum of 10 years of experience in Swift and iOS software engineering.
At least 12 years of experience in mobile software engineering overall.
Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships.
Self-driven mindset with the ability to tackle greenfield projects and bring innovative ideas to life.
Proficiency in iOS testing frameworks and a solid understanding of best practices.
Experience in developing platform components and common features that enhance scalability, consistency, performance, and maintainability.
Strong critical thinking abilities and attention to detail.
Willingness to learn continuously and passion for mentoring others.
