About the Role
The Store Manager is responsible for meeting sales and income budget expectations while managing expenses to maximize profitability. This role involves creating a positive and mentoring environment for program participants and implementing effective work therapy assignments.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for meeting store sales and income budget expectations while managing expenses to maximize profitability.
- Implement positive and effective Work Therapy Assignments (WTA) and keep Beneficiaries on the right track and focus where they need to improve.
- Plans and directs the day-to-day operations of assigned store location, including opening/closing procedures, point of sale operations, inventory management, merchandising standards, and donations.
- Hire, train, and direct the store team, ensuring proficiency and providing performance coaching.
- Schedule employees for appropriate coverage and coordinate daily team meetings.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including daily monitoring of time and attendance.
- Ensure high levels of customer and donor satisfaction through excellent service and community relations.
- Ensure Back Room Processing/Warehouse Associates work effectively to meet daily processing goals.
- Ensure all store deliveries/product are on the sales floor in a timely manner.
- Supervise, support, and report on program Beneficiaries if Work Therapy Assignments are in place.
- Responsible for the protection and security of store currency, inventory, and property.
- Ensure the building is secured during non-operating hours with alarm system arming and alert protocol.
- Establish and maintain safety measures consistent with policy and regulations, and report safety issues immediately.
- Conduct and record mandatory Weekly Store Meetings.
- Attend ARC Monthly Safety Meetings.
- May transfer or be relocated to other stores based on business needs.
- Completes all tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisor/management experience in a retail environment.
- Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid Driver’s license, successfully pass a MVR check, proof of insurance and access to a motor vehicle.
- Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers, and donors.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
