About the Role

A leading senior home care company is seeking an experienced Scheduling Coordinator to organize the scheduling and administration of personal care services. This role is key in creating an environment that provides strong direction and support to caregivers, fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate caregivers based on assessment and care plan information for new and existing clients.
  • Maintain all scheduling of caregivers and respond to situations where scheduling conflicts, emergencies and/or call-outs arise.
  • Communicate timely and positively any caregiver changes and updates to the schedules ahead of the scheduled time with the client/family.
  • Track and record all scheduling changes in company software.
  • Participate in paid on-call duty after normal business hours.
  • Communicate and provide input to supervisor and office staff on hiring needs.
  • Assist in keeping caregiver files up to date, including tracking expiration of licensing and insurance.
  • Coordinate shift back-fill activities in the event of caregiver tardiness or absences.
  • Act as point of contact with client family regarding schedules.
  • Maintain an excellent rapport with clients and caregivers and effectively promote positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Work in conjunction with supervisor in resolving complaints, incidents, and injuries.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a home care scheduler is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Knowledge of general home care/healthcare staffing required.
  • Excellent organization and decision-making skills.
  • Must maintain professionalism and patience within a fast-paced environment.
