About the Role
Packer Collegiate Institute seeks a part-time Middle School Spanish teacher (grades 5-8) for the 2026-2027 academic year. The role involves teaching language, culture, and content with social justice themes, utilizing frameworks like ACTFL and CEFR.
Responsibilities
- Teach 3 sections of Spanish, designing curricula and lesson plans.
- Collaborate with department members.
- Engage in diversity, equity, inclusion, & anti-racism efforts.
- Communicate proactively with families about student progress.
- Lead and participate in off-campus field trips.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
- Strong background in Spanish-language education and enthusiasm for working with elementary and middle school students.
- Commitment to anti-bias and anti-racism work.
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive, just, and equitable school community.
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative student-centered activities for diverse students.
- Familiarity with effective technology use in language teaching.
- Genuine desire to collaborate with colleagues.
- Comfort with and interest in working with students in an advisory capacity.
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations for disabilities.
