About the Role

The Software Developer is responsible for designing, testing, developing, and deploying applications for Northwestern Medicine. This role involves mentoring junior developers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions, supporting the organization's mission to transform healthcare through innovative technology.

Responsibilities

• Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
• Participate in the Agile software development lifecycle, from concept and design to full-stack coding and testing.
• Collaborate within an agile team environment, engaging in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Document and demonstrate solutions through comprehensive documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, code comments, and clear code.
• Stay current with development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment through continuous learning and professional engagement.
• Provide ad hoc project status updates and participate in meetings and conference calls.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Make informed decisions quickly and take ownership of services and applications at scale.
• Create internal process improvement initiatives within team toolsets and workflows.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews, offering constructive feedback to maintain coding standards and best practices.
• Provide operational support as needed.
• Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with team members to resolve challenges.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a full stack software developer.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Web development using the .Net Framework, .Net Core, C#, ASP.Net, Web Services (Web API), WCF, REST, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS.
• Microsoft SQL Server database design with experience in query optimization.
• Experience with front end frameworks (Angular, Razor, React, Blazor etc.).
• Experience with Source Control: TFS, Git, Azure DevOps.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Experience creating CI/CD pipelines, and utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps.
• Experience with IAC (Terraform, Biceps).
• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes.
• Must complete an authorization and disclosure form for background check.
