About the Role
Okta is seeking a Principal Program Manager to lead complex, cross-functional programs across Technology, Data, and Intelligence (TDI), focusing initially on strategic AI programs to accelerate enterprise AI adoption, AI for Growth, and AI platform maturity. This role involves partnering across various departments to align strategy, establish operating models, and drive predictable execution for high-priority technology initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic AI initiatives focused on accelerating enterprise AI adoption and AI for Growth.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, Security, Data, and Business leaders to identify, prioritize, and deliver high-impact AI capabilities.
- Drive adoption of AI platforms, AI agents, MCPs, developer tooling, and automation capabilities while measuring business impact and ROI.
- Build and execute multi-year AI transformation roadmaps that align with business priorities and technology strategy.
- Lead complex, cross-functional technology programs from strategy through execution and operationalization.
- Translate strategic initiatives into clear execution plans with defined ownership, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
- Build integrated roadmaps, establish governance, and drive planning, dependency management, risk mitigation, and executive reporting.
- Facilitate executive reviews, drive cross-functional alignment, resolve risks, and improve execution through scalable operating mechanisms such as RAPIDs, KPIs, and operating models.
- Identify process improvements, remove execution bottlenecks, and ensure successful transition to long-term operational ownership.
- Establish scalable operating models, governance, and lifecycle management for AI platforms and solutions, including security, compliance, operational readiness, and long-term ownership.
- Define and track executive KPIs that measure platform adoption, utilization, operational health, business impact, cost efficiency, and ROI.
- Partner with Finance and Engineering to support AI capacity planning, budgeting, and operational scaling.
Requirements
- 10+ years leading large-scale, cross-functional technology transformation programs across Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Data, AI/ML, and Product organizations.
- Proven track record of delivering complex strategic initiatives by establishing scalable operating models, governance, executive reporting, and execution frameworks.
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to influence engineering leaders, architects, and executives while translating strategy into measurable business outcomes.
- Experience leading enterprise AI initiatives, with a good understanding of AI platforms, LLMs, AI agents, MCPs, developer platforms, and enterprise AI adoption.
- Demonstrated success driving roadmap execution, organizational change, dependency management, and executive alignment across highly matrixed organizations.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, build consensus, and navigate ambiguity without direct authority.
- Proficiency with modern program management, analytics, and AI productivity tools, including Jira, Confluence, BI platforms, and AI-enabled collaboration tools.
