About the Role
The Sr. Private Bank Client Relations Manager serves as an extension of the Private Bank Relationship Manager, driving new client acquisition, deepening existing relationships, and delivering a best-in-class experience to ultra-high-net-worth individuals. This client-facing role combines mortgage expertise, credit analysis, and business development support to grow the Private Bank's lending and deposit portfolio. The role involves guiding clients through the residential lending process, from initial conversations to post-close servicing, acting as a trusted resource and providing tailored solutions.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Relationship Managers to support business development, prospect cultivation, and new client acquisition.
- Participate in client and prospect meetings as a residential lending subject matter expert and trusted advisor.
- Conduct residential mortgage prequalification analysis, documentation review, and borrower financial assessments.
- Assist with prospective client inquiries, introductory conversations, and mortgage rate discussions when Relationship Managers are unavailable.
- Manage the active residential mortgage pipeline from preapproval through closing and post-close servicing.
- Provide mortgage structure recommendations and preliminary deal analysis for complex residential lending opportunities.
- Develop a strong understanding of client financial profiles and proactively identify opportunities to deepen lending and deposit relationships.
- Collaborate with Private Bank Credit Officers on loan pre-screening, credit analysis, and transaction structuring.
- Answer client questions regarding loan terms, documentation requirements, underwriting expectations, and initial loan estimates.
- Coordinate with internal business partners to facilitate timely loan processing, approvals, and closings.
- Support client meetings, events, and relationship management activities.
- Mentor and coach junior team members on residential lending fundamentals, client service excellence, and Private Bank best practices.
Requirements
- 5-10+ years of residential mortgage lending experience, preferably supporting affluent, high-net-worth, or ultra-high-net-worth clients.
- Proven experience originating, analyzing, structuring, and managing residential mortgage transactions from initial client engagement through closing.
- Strong understanding of mortgage products, credit analysis, underwriting processes, loan documentation, and residential lending policies strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex borrower financial situations and recommend appropriate lending solutions.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the confidence to engage sophisticated clients, prospects, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proven work ethic, sense of urgency, and commitment to delivering white-glove service.
