About the Role
This role involves carrying out grounds work, snow removal, and occasional light maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Director, ensuring a well-maintained campus environment.
Responsibilities
- Performs grounds keeping tasks throughout the campus, including weeding, mowing, edging, mulching, raking, digging, planting, snow removal, and picking up trash/debris.
- Operates power equipment, pick-up trucks, and tractors.
- Maintains cleanliness of the maintenance garage.
- Reports to the fire zone when an alarm sounds.
- Participates in in-service education and safety programs.
- Ensures that resident tickets are resolved promptly.
Requirements
- A combination of experience, education, and/or training which substantially demonstrates knowledge and skills in grounds and landscaping work.
- Equivalent experience in grounds and landscaping work including planting, pruning, mowing, snow removal and the like.
- Must be neat in appearance, dependable, and possess a pleasant personality.
- Must have a valid NYS driver’s license.
- Requires ability to relate and be respectful to a wide variety of people and provide superior customer service.
- Position requires working outdoors year-round.
- Requires the ability to be on call and cover weekend shifts during the winter months for snow removal.
- Must wear employee badge at all times while on-the-job.
- Must report to work on time and adhere to attendance policy.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding information about Residents, co-workers, vendors, family members, and visitors.
