About the Role
The Sales Consultant is responsible for selling new and used vehicles, meeting dealership gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction standards.
Responsibilities
- Guarantee customer satisfaction.
- Present new and used vehicle features tailored to customer interests and needs.
- Demonstrate new and used vehicles, including test drives.
- Deliver vehicles to customers, explaining operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
- Attend sales meetings.
- Maintain an owner follow-up system to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Maintain a prospect development system.
- Stay informed about new products and customer benefits.
- Assist with lot and inventory maintenance.
- Maintain CSI in the top 10% of the group.
- Support and endorse dealership policies and procedures.
- Establish personal income goals consistent with dealership standards (minimum eight new and used deliveries per month).
- Devise a strategy to meet sales goals.
- Provide a lease presentation to every customer.
- Work according to manufacturers’ standards.
- Report to management concerning objectives, planned activities, reviews, and analyses.
- Review and analyze actions daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly to improve time utilization and planning.
- Understand automobile business terminology and technological changes.
- Familiarize oneself with competitive products, equipment, prices, models, series, and trading practices.
- Collaborate with the service department, emphasizing repair quality and availability to customers.
- Understand federal, state, and local laws governing retail auto sales.
- Strive to be within the top 10% of the group for customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED).
- Valid New York State Driver License.

- Ability to spend time outdoors showing vehicles and driving vehicles in traffic during test drives.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 20 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Ability to work with hazards such as slips, trips, falls, ergonomic injuries, and occasional lifting.
