About the Role

As a Service Improver, you will work alongside qualified Smoke & Fire Damper Engineers, gaining on-the-job experience and in-house training to become self-sufficient in providing skilled engineering services on customer sites across the UK. This role supports the provision of fire/smoke damper control services.

Responsibilities

  • Support qualified Smoke & Fire Damper Engineers with mentoring and training for continued development.
  • Carry out maintenance, repair, remedial, and service support for smoke/fire dampers and control panels.
  • Communicate technical information and site requirements back to the Service office.
  • Perform fault finding.
  • Liaise and develop working relationships with customers and company employees.
  • Complete relevant service paperwork using the online platform.
  • Demonstrate awareness and appreciation of Health and Safety requirements and complete Dynamic Risk Assessments.
  • Identify commercial opportunities for business development through lead generation.

Requirements

  • A strong desire to learn engineering skills in the industry.
  • Strong customer-centric focus and willingness to learn.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Clean driver's license.
  • Experience dealing with customers and communicating technical information.
  • Awareness and appreciation of Health and Safety requirements to industry standards.
  • Understanding the importance of working in line with risk assessments and method statements.
  • Ability to provide an appropriate audit trail of documentation relating to servicing of customer sites.
