About the Role
Independently complete complex development of engineering design, preparation of specifications, compile technical reports, and other activities requiring knowledge of standard engineering principles and techniques for water/wastewater distribution and conveyance systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects utilizing technical knowledge and experience to develop the project team's overall capabilities.
- Manage projects from planning to design and construction of water/wastewater distribution and conveyance systems including pipelines, pump stations, storage, and end-of-pipe treatment facilities.
- Lead development of construction documents/specifications and handle engineering services during construction.
- Meet established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment, including project/task scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate execution of projects with other disciplines.
- Develop medium to large planning and design projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare complete construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of Water/Wastewater projects.
- Create and manage cost estimates and project schedules, and be responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations & analysis and utilize design software to solve complex issues.
- Supervise and support the work of others and mentor junior level engineer & design/drafting technical staff.
Requirements
- 10 - 15 years' experience in the planning, design, and construction of municipal Water/Wastewater.
- Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Experience in process design, treatment plants upgrades, and pump station design.
- Client relationship skills, including proposal preparation and development, and client management experience with a successful record of accomplishment.
- Active participation in technical societies and trade organizations associated with Water/Wastewater (AWWA, WEF, ASCE, NGWA, etc).
- Strong data analysis and technical problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to develop competence in a broad array of engineering-related tasks.
- Ability to train and mentor junior level staff.
- Successful track record of proposal writing and development.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- P.E. required.
- PMP is a nice to have.

- $110,000 - $160,000 annually
