About the Role

The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and housekeeping tasks to provide a clean and safe environment for residents, enabling them to live safely and independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vacant apartments for occupancy in coordination with building super or as directed.
• Assist with painting and light repairs.
• Assist in special projects such as stripping and waxing floors.
• Assist with electrical repairs, including troubleshooting and replacing fixtures.
• Complete residential painting projects with precision and attention to detail.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs on residential properties, ensuring all work meets safety standards.
• Wear the company’s uniform and/or adhere to the dress code policy, and maintain a neat and clean appearance.
• Work as a member of a team to establish and maintain a high level of care, respect, and communication with senior residents.
• Work cooperatively with other staff members.
• Share information about resident progress, needs, and problems with other staff in accordance with WSFSSH Confidentiality Policy.
• Attend training sessions and conferences as required for enhancement of job skills.
• Implement emergency procedures as necessary.
• Submit all required reports in a complete and timely manner.
• Assist with other duties as directed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; in lieu of GED, 4 years in a relevant maintenance technician and/or maintenance position required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with a senior population and dependent individuals.
• Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated work experience as a maintenance technician and building maintenance.
• Able to perform job responsibilities.
• Physical demands include primarily required to stand, walk, lean, bend, manage stairs for extended periods throughout multiple buildings.
• Must be able to maneuver in small spaces, kneel, crouch, climb ladders.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs or more as needed.

• Strong maintenance skills and experience

• Extremely organized
• Good communicator

• Aptitude for problem solving
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, highly preferred
