About the Role

Delta Capita is seeking a Senior eTrading Developer to focus on developing and enhancing low-latency components within an electronic trading and eRisk platform. The role involves designing and building high-performance, distributed systems for global FX and electronic execution businesses, contributing to next-generation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Work with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements before commencing design and development.
• Produce detailed technical designs aligned with broader architectural standards.
• Work effectively alongside external and internal technical teams as required.
• Develop high-quality, low-latency server-side Java components using industry-standard patterns.
• Apply continuous integration practices and automated testing (unit, integration).
• Conduct comprehensive testing prior to release into UAT.
• Assist with deployment processes across development and test environments.
• Participate in intraday and overnight support rotations when required.
• Contribute to the evolution of pricing, distribution, and algorithmic trading components.

Requirements

• A valid working permit for the UK is mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 days per week in the office, 2 days from home is the minimum expectation.

Skills

• Strong server-side Java experience, including demonstrable multithreaded development skills.
• Experience building highly available, distributed systems.
• Proven experience in tuning and developing low-latency applications.
• Hands-on experience with electronic trading, pricing engines, or algorithmic execution components (FX or similar asset classes).
• Knowledge of testing methodologies including TDD/BDD.
• Familiarity with enterprise messaging technologies (e.g., multicast, low-latency messaging platforms).
• Experience with FIX or similar trading protocols is advantageous.
• Familiarity with time-series databases (e.g., kdb+) is desirable.
• Experience with lock-free algorithms, advanced concurrency, and performance optimisation is preferred.
