About the Role
The Housing Specialist is responsible for the oversight of clients enrolled in the Supported Housing portion of the SP SRO housing. DePaul values diversity and offers opportunity for professional development and career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Develop, monitor, and update housing support plans to identify services that maximize client success.
- Assist in linkage to necessary support services, including mental health treatment, medical, vocational, and educational services.
- Network with support services such as mental health treatment, medical, vocational, and educational services.
- Assist clients in accessing and maintaining all eligible financial entitlements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Perform essential duties for other staff in their absence.
- Attend county SPOA meetings as part of DePaul’s intake team to assist with admission decisions.
- Assess referrals to determine if SP SRO is an appropriate level of care for individuals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of mental health and/or special needs population experience (per site needs).
- One year of experience working in the human services field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid New York State driver’s license.
- Must meet qualifications set by the agency’s clean driver record policy.
- Use of personal vehicle required.

About the Company
- Clinton Avenue Apartments, a Single-Site Supportive Housing Program, is a New York State Office of Mental Health funded program that provides 40 units of long-term or permanent housing where residents can access the support services they require to live successfully in the community.
- The apartments are operated by Home Leasing and DePaul provides supportive housing services for tenants.
