About the Role
This position is a Survey Party Chief which requires 4 - 8 years of experience supervising a survey field crew performing control surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, construction stakeout, monitoring and as-built surveys.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a survey field crew performing control surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, construction stakeout, monitoring and as-built surveys.
- Mentor, train, and manage assigned staff in the field.
- Operate robotic total stations, electronic data collectors, digital and optical levels, and RTK GPS equipment.
- Perform survey calculations in the field.
- Interpret design plans and understand as-built drawings and roadway plans.
- Create legible field sketches and detailed field notes.
- Follow instructions and maintain a positive can-do attitude.
- Lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, work in all weather conditions.
- Work evenings/weekends when required.
- Travel for overnight and extended stay projects as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to maintain required certifications.
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.
- Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
