About the Role

We are seeking a Head of "Personnel and Travel Management" to shape the personnel policy and central travel management of the institute in collaboration with the institute's management and administrative directorate. This role acts as the interface between scientific departments and central administration, leading a team of seven.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and disciplinary leadership for the Personnel and Travel Management team.
• Advise institute management, administrative directorate, and leadership/specialist staff on fundamental issues in employment contract, collective agreement, social security, and federal travel expense law.
• Serve as the point of contact for the Fraunhofer Society's central administration.
• Develop and implement strategic and operational projects within administration, focusing on digital solutions, personnel controlling, recruitment, and personnel development.
• Collaborate with specialist departments, particularly in personnel development and controlling, recruiting, and onboarding.
• Proactively initiate digitalization and transformation projects to automate and accelerate daily HR workflows and the HR system landscape.
• Foster constructive and trusting collaboration with the works council and other committees.
• Take conceptual responsibility for vocational training and ensure its quality.
