About the Role
The Sales Development Representative is responsible for identifying, contacting, and qualifying new leads to set up introductory meetings with the Americas Strategic sales team for the Professional Information Business.
Responsibilities
- Call current and prospective clients to set up meetings for the Professional Information Business suite of products.
- Work closely with Sales Directors, Account Executives, and Sales Specialists to devise sales campaigns for specific segments.
- Identify target groups, build prospect lists, and generate qualified sales leads through targeted campaigns.
- Identify, qualify, and develop new leads to achieve and exceed personal and team revenue goals.
- Develop necessary internal relationships with all parts of the Professional Information Business team (Data Strategy, Product, Marketing & Sales).
- Maintain records of sales calls, contacts, and sales campaigns in the global CRM to provide timely management information.
Requirements
- 1+ year experience required.
- Comfort and confidence with cold calling.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Driven by results.
- Proactive, with a 'can do' attitude and the ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills a must.
- Experience in selling information and compliance tools to senior business decision makers a plus.
- Knowledge or ability to learn the processes and daily workflow of compliance personnel.
- Ability to utilize effective influencing strategies to gain agreement or commitment to proposed solutions to advance the sales process.
- Ability to drive new business opportunities within new prospects, as well as ability to upsell to existing Dow Jones customers in a team selling environment.
- Ability to identify key customer issues to determine whether it is appropriate to set up a meeting with a specialist.
- Ability to maintain effectiveness when working closely with people of diverse cultures or backgrounds.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple activities and re-prioritize when necessary to ensure revenue goals are achieved.
