About the Role

As a Nordstrom Rack team member, you will contribute to a fast-paced, high-energy environment by collaborating with teammates to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all customers. You will ensure a quick and easy customer experience and maintain a clean and clutter-free store. Flexibility is key, as you may occasionally work in different areas of the store.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the salesfloor stays "runway ready" by re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day.
• Assist customers with a variety of transactions across different platforms, operating a point-of-sale system, bagging items, and handling bulky items.
• Create a smooth fitting room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting clothing.
• Maintain a clean and clutter-free customer experience by sorting and returning clothing to the salesfloor.
• Keep stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
• Demonstrate expertise in all store technologies.
• Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards.
• Promote initiatives like the Nordstrom Rewards program.
• Receive, unload freight, unpack and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments.
• Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards.
• Prepare and ship customer orders following quality, packing, and shipping standards.
• Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments.
• Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
• Provide general support to the store, including setting up special events, organizing backrooms, markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.

Requirements

• Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills.
• Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Continuous movement for 6-8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
• Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting these items above the head.
• Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
• Stock and Fulfillment Only: Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
