About the Role
Provide technical support to process engineering and production personnel in all areas of manufacturing. Duties will include involvement in all aspects of production support, process improvement, yield improvement, equipment preventive maintenance as well as various engineering products and process related projects.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and troubleshoot production problems in multiple manufacturing areas.
- Act as the first line of production contact and support including: equipment preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, electrical & mechanical evaluations, set-ups, and non-conforming MRB activity.
- Support all continuous improvement activities including Kaizen team actions, 5S coordination, mistake proofing, and value stream improvements to production flows.
- Assist in the activities involved with the installation of new and removal of obsolete equipment, including layout, facilities planning, and initial startup validations.
- Perform experiments under limited guidance of a process engineer, including basic test plans, running experiments, data analysis and initial reporting.
- Support customer delivery commitments through continuing communication and problem resolution with production supervisor and production personnel.
- Provide necessary disposition of material (MRB) per standard procedures with process engineering oversight as required.
- Review drawings of parts and assemblies, including mechanical or electrical drawings.
- Work with other functions such as design engineering, project engineering, and manufacturing to keep technical information updated and accurate.
- Instruct and train production personnel on proper use of equipment and processes within standard procedures.
- Aid in the writing and maintenance of process and production procedures for assigned products and areas.
- Interact with equipment manufacturer's technical support and TTM facilities personnel to perform equipment upgrades, repairs, and/or retrofits.
- Comply with and support company policies and programs regarding safety, security, environmental, ISO, EEO, OSHA and Continuous Improvement activities.
- Assist in production processing when needed.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC.
- Must be able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents.
- Must recognize Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation.
- Must understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL).
- Must understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US.
- Must manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across functional groups.
- Good time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to train others and work as a member of inter-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent PC skills, proficiency in the use of most Windows based software, both stand-alone software as well as equipment based.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Project, and other standard programs.
- Strong attention to details.
- Strong ability to be an analytical thinker, very task oriented.
- Proficiency in data analysis and structured problem-solving including publishing and documenting the results is preferred.
- Ability to adapt and learn new skills due to continually changing work environment.
- A self-starter with the ability to work without direct supervision and a sense of urgency to meet production goals and customer expectations.
- Ability to work with computerized manufacturing equipment.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude for sophisticated automation.
- Excellent Electrical troubleshooting skills including knowledge of 24V DC circuits.
