About the Role
The Patient Access Navigator is a fundamental part of the patient experience and a key contributor to the financial health of the organization. This role coordinates scheduling, registration, insurance eligibility, financial screening, and ADT order management to provide exceptional customer service. The incumbent navigates complex regulatory requirements and coordinates activities across multiple information systems to support operations while delivering a caring message.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate scheduling, registration, insurance and payer eligibility management and financial screening activities.
- Manage ADT order management activities.
- Navigate complex regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate activities across multiple disparate information systems.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for staff, providing support, direction, and service recovery.
Requirements
- Ability to diffuse angry customers and handle pressure with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience dealing effectively and compassionately with sensitive situations.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers.
- Strong key-boarding skills.
- Ability to multi-task across multiple software applications.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple interruptions.
- Microsoft application experience required.
- Ability to work in high stress environments while maintaining composure.
- Minimum of 7 hours keyboarding per day is expected.
- Telephony in a call center environment is required for pre-service operations.
