About the Role

Applications are currently being invited for an hourly Safety and Security position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Safety and Security duties for the facility.
  • Monitor CCTVs.
  • Respond to all emergencies.
  • Manage the front desk/lobby area and answer the main phone.
  • Make rounds.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Possession of New York State Peace Officer Certification (a 7-week peace officer academy in upstate NY).
  • Ability to perform physical job responsibilities.
  • Must have access to a vehicle and valid, unrestricted driver's license upon hire and continuously thereafter.
  • Schedule flexibility to permit as needed site visits to NKI to cover various overtime shifts with advance notice.
  • Prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
  • Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment.
  • Prospective appointees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).
  • Prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
