About the Role

Deliver diagnostic excellence by producing high-quality mammography images with precision, compassion, and confidence, ensuring every patient feels seen, respected, and cared for. This role is essential for delivering advanced outpatient imaging, with a focus on screening and diagnostic mammograms, including tomosynthesis, meeting the highest clinical standards with genuine human care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammography, including tomosynthesis, in compliance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols.
  • Ensure accurate positioning and optimal compression technique.
  • Select appropriate exposure parameters and apply ALARA principles.
  • Know breast anatomy, mammographic positioning, and digital tomosynthesis.
  • Document thoroughly, label images precisely, and perform QA work for compliance and accreditation.
  • Verify patient identity, review medical history, and explain procedures clearly.
  • Handle patient interactions with dignity and professionalism, putting patients at ease and making exams comfortable without compromising image quality.
  • Maintain ARRT certification, state license, BLS, and MQSA-mandated CEUs.
  • Ensure initial training documentation, tomosynthesis training documentation, and digital training records are complete and current.
  • Manage workflow in a busy outpatient environment, keeping rooms ready, performing routine quality assurance, and maintaining equipment.
  • Adapt to schedule shifts and work independently.
  • Mentor students by providing hands-on guidance and modeling professionalism and technical precision.
  • Contribute to a positive clinical culture.

Requirements

  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required.
  • ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M) required.
  • Valid state radiologic technologist license current (where applicable).
  • Current BLS certification.
  • MQSA compliant — 15 breast CEUs every 3 years maintained.
  • Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams).
  • Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current.
  • Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS.
  • Strong patient communication skills, especially in sensitive situations.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently.
  • Willingness to mentor students and contribute to a positive clinical culture.

  • North California: $53.00 - $60.00
  • South California: $38.00 - $46.00
  • Colorado: $35.00 - $43.00
