About the Role
Optum NY is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Pediatric Multi-Specialty team in Lake Success, NY. As a member of the Optum Care Delivery team, you’ll be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone. At Optum, you’ll have the clinical resources, data and support of a global organization behind you so you can help your patients live healthier lives.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients/significant others via direct and/or telephone contact, following established standards and practices
- Coordinate with other members of the care team to ensure seamless care delivery, maximal coordination of efforts, and active patient participation in planning and care
- Assist physician or other provider with clinical procedures
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of clinical experience in a medical office / clinic or hospital setting, or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Proven ability to support multi-specialties across multiple locations as identified in the work schedule
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Skills
- Medical Assistant Certification from NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, AMT, NHA
