This role sits within the Performance and Technology team as part of the Business Development department, working collaboratively with marketing, communications, and commercial success teams to create, maintain, and evolve processes and workflows. It focuses on utilizing data, technology, automation, and AI for practical implementation and measurable impact, streamlining workflows, improving consistency, and strengthening campaign planning, execution, and measurement.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sector and Service Marketing, Communications and Commercial Success teams to identify process inefficiencies and implement simple, efficient, and effective ways of working.
  • Design, optimize, and embed scalable marketing and BD operational processes, guidance, and standards.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to use automation and AI to improve speed, quality, and efficiency.
  • Build colleagues’ confidence in using approved tools effectively, while applying pragmatic risk, quality, and information-management safeguards.
  • Use operational data and performance insights to identify bottlenecks, prioritize improvements, and measure the impact of change.
  • Translate findings into clear practical recommendations and improvements.
  • Lead or support an agile test-and-learn approach to process innovation, scaling successful improvements, and supporting teams through change.
  • Contribute to the development of the Marketing Operations function by fostering an always-on approach to continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Experience in marketing operations, process improvement, enablement, workflow optimisation, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of how marketing and business development teams operate across campaign planning, digital activity, communications, execution, delivery, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to identify inefficiencies, simplify processes, and deliver operational improvements, including introducing automation, workflow tools, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and delivery skills.
  • Ability to use data to identify opportunities, measure impact, and take initiatives from diagnosis through to implementation and adoption.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, build trusted relationships, influence without formal authority, and explain process or technology changes clearly.
  • Experience of supporting change and embedding new ways of working.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and curious approach.
  • Passion for continuous improvement, exploring new technologies, contributing ideas, and working effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Practical and hands-on with a strong focus on delivery and measurable outcomes.
  • Curious and improvement-oriented, with a natural tendency to constructively question inefficient ways of working.
  • Adaptable and pragmatic, with the ability to apply technology and AI sensibly.
  • Confidence assessing, configuring, and, where appropriate, developing AI-enabled automations to address clearly identified workflow inefficiencies.
  • Commercially aware, with an understanding of how effective operations support stronger marketing and BD outcomes.
  • Collaborative and credible, able to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Organised and structured, able to manage multiple improvement initiatives at once.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to quality assurance.
