Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain residential and commercial buildings and their components and equipment.
- Perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and appliance repair.
- Conduct corrective service and repair/restoration works as needed.
- Perform daily technical inspection rounds to check equipment and installations.
- Inspect public areas daily for unexpected problems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and general equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain written or computerized records of mechanical system status.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls for all building systems and components.
- Highlight matters requiring future upgrading work.
- Assist in HVAC unit repair projects.
- Assist in remodeling and construction of new projects.
- Perform pool/spa maintenance.
- Maintain neat and orderly mechanical areas.
- Manage inventory records of parts, supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
- Collaborate with Operations Managers and communicate maintenance-related operational aspects.
- Communicate results of completed tasks and ongoing work to appropriate departments.
- Adhere to all OSHA guidelines and standards.
- Operate vehicles safely.
- Monitor and evaluate work conditions for compliance with regulations and guidelines.
- Inform supervisor of hazardous situations, emergencies, or security threats.
- Act calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Perform basic mathematical functions.
- Read and comprehend technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Learn and utilize new methods, materials, procedures, and systems.
- Inspect work and work areas for conformance to standards.
- Communicate clearly and congenially with guests, visitors, and employees.

- Perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting, flexing arms, walking, sitting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.

Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License and at least 21 years of age, or 20 years of age with at least two years of licensed driving experience.
- Technical knowledge and experience in residential and commercial heating systems (geothermal, hydronic, electric and steam).
- Technical knowledge and experience in electrical wiring (including electrical theory and circuit design).
- Technical knowledge and experience in kitchen appliances.
- Technical knowledge and experience in HVAC Systems.
- Technical knowledge and experience in fire sprinkler and other fire suppression systems.
- Technical knowledge and experience in commercial and institutional laundry equipment.
- Technical knowledge and experience in motors and pumps.
- Technical knowledge and experience in electromechanical assemblies and controls.
- Technical knowledge and experience in refrigeration principles.
- Technical knowledge and experience in high pressure boilers and pools.
- Technical knowledge and experience in fasteners and fastening systems.
- Technical knowledge and experience in door/window/locks and screens.
- Technical knowledge and experience in application of paints/stains and other protective coatings.
- Proficiency with Windows-based operating systems.
- Proficiency with software including MS Word, MS Outlook.
- Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.
- Ability to hear verbal instructions, directions, and warnings.
- Ability to reach with hands and arms, bend, kneel, stoop, twist and flex arms, walk up and down stairs/inclines, sit, climb up/down ladders or stand for up to 5 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds from ground level to shoulder and carry a distance of up to 50 feet with/ without assistance.
- Ability to walk up to 15 miles per day.
- Ability to perform work duties up to 80 feet above the ground.
- Ability to maneuver carts or dollies safely with loads up to 200 pounds up and down stairs, elevators, through passageways or outdoors up to 750 feet.
- Ability to pass through and work in tight, enclosed, and confined spaces.
- Ability to drive automatic and standard transmission vehicles.
- Ability to see close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to carry a two-way portable radio and earpiece.
- Ability to work under stress from contact with public, demanding deadlines and changing priorities and conditions.
- Ability to work outdoors and exposed to natural elements.
- Ability to adhere to Mohonk Mountain House’s Dress and Grooming Standards.
- Ability to learn and successfully demonstrate the Mohonk Mountain House Service Steps with Service Strategies with guests and staff.
- Ability to learn and retain knowledge of historical facts and information about Mohonk Mountain House.
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including days/nights, overnights, weekdays/weekends, holidays, and during peak periods of business.
- Ability to work additional hours beyond regularly scheduled work day (evenings and weekends) as necessary.
- Ability to work extended hours or on short notice in emergency situations.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with other staff.
- Ability to answer questions with accurate information and demonstrate a friendly and helpful personality by smiling, eye contact, initiating conversation and engaging with others.
