About the Role

We are seeking a Loan Underwriter with experience in a regulated financial services organization to join our fast-paced, non-profit team. The Underwriter will make direct and autonomous lending decisions, assessing personal loan applications to ensure responsible and affordable lending. This challenging role requires strong organizational skills and data analysis abilities, offering an opportunity to work for a social business focused on client impact.

Responsibilities

Review financial information and documents against policies and procedures.
Discuss with clients to understand their financial situation and ensure responsible lending.
Make recommendations or direct lending decisions.
Work towards achieving business targets for quantity, quality, and compliance.
Provide clients with prompt and clear information about their application.
Support clients to complete their application.
Ensure all loan decisions are compliant and meet responsible lending criteria.
Keep up to date with changing policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as required by the Company.

Requirements

Experience working in a regulated financial services organization.
Ability to analyze complex information.
High attention to detail.
Demonstrate accountability, diligence, and integrity.
High level of computer literacy.
