About the Role

The Sr Data Engineering Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data products and enterprise data solutions. This role ensures the reliability and performance of data pipelines, APIs, and analytics solutions, requiring autonomy in managing complex data pipelines and collaboration with key partners.

Responsibilities

  • Execute data extraction, cleansing, reconciliation, and assess data quality.
  • Design and maintain physical and logical data models.
  • Utilize data engineering tools for querying (SQL), handling (pySpark, stored procedures), and storage (ADLS).
  • Develop scalable data solutions, reusable frameworks, and AI-enabled capabilities using Python, Databricks, and data lake platforms.
  • Implement the semantic layer to bring data to visualization tools.
  • Apply proactive performance optimizations and monitoring of data solutions, including alerts, while improving scalability, maintainability, and architecture.
  • Perform research and analysis to solve real-world business problems.
  • Use DevOps platforms (GitHub) and manage infrastructure deployments through code (Terraform).
  • Configure and use CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure (Databricks environments) for data solution development and deployment.
  • Promote and comply with security requirements on platforms and environments.
  • Deliver production-ready code and reusable approaches to reduce technical debt.
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate, innovate, and make data-driven decisions to add business value.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to drive business value.

Education Level

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
  • Advanced degree is an asset.
  • Experience with AI services and LLMs would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with Databricks and PySpark would be considered an asset.

Salary/Compensations

  • $83,774 to $133,700+
