About the Role
Manage the activities of specific departments on the production floor, following established procedures and approved processes. This role requires clear communication and a focus on improving working conditions, employee skills, and overall production efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all production operations including machining, processing, and assembly.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products.
- Direct subordinates using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
- Manage the improvement of working conditions (safety, quality, productivity, cost) and enhance employee skills and capabilities.
- Undertake other duties as assigned and/or special projects.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment.
- Complete knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations.
- Ability to improve efficiencies and throughput in all managed areas.
- Focus on Root Cause analysis to implement permanent fixes and improve quality and yields.
- Understand major cost drivers and manage to the lowest level.
- Innovative thinking to drive change.
- Experience in logistics to maximize throughput.
- Ability to instill discipline through understanding rules and regulations and leading by example.
- Respond to customer needs quickly and professionally.
- Spend time on the manufacturing floor with employees.
