About the Role
The Human Resources Manager serves as part of the leadership team, ensuring agency compliance with Federal, State, and local employment law regulations. This role provides senior executives with up-to-date information for effective benefit administration and staffing decisions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource for supervisors to discuss and resolve departmental or agency-wide HR and employee relations issues.
- Offer disciplinary procedures and guidance in compliance with HR employment labor laws.
- Manage all aspects of Human Resources, including salary and benefit administration.
- Stay updated on employment and labor law changes, recommending and implementing compliance changes.
- Assess the effectiveness of human resources and administrative services for strategic planning.
- Supervise and monitor the administration of human resource procedures.
- Oversee recruitment functions, including attending or arranging recruitment events.
- Review and select agency benefits plans in collaboration with the president.
- Manage relationships with benefits insurance brokers and HR legal counsel.
- Oversee agency adherence to personnel policies.
- Oversee the payroll function.
- Update and revise personnel policies and procedures.
- Make recommendations to the President & CEO to amend or change personnel policies.
- Review annual performance evaluations and ensure timely completion for all staff.
- Manage orientation and onboarding for new staff.
- Travel to local school-based programs and sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in human resources and administration management.
- Specific expertise in human resources management and administration.
- Experience working with a non-profit organization.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, and creatively and effectively as a member of a team.
